Paramita belongs to a highly creative family. Her mother Prativa Satpathy is a renowned poet of Odisha and has received Sahitya Akademi Award in 2001. Her father Nityananda Satpathy is a prominent literary critic of Odia literature. She has one daughter Anwesha Tripathy who is a clinical psychologist and her husband Subrat Tripathy is C.E.O of the Dhamara Port in Odisha.
